Sofia’s Vatican Garden Apartment is a unique and charming apartment in the Prati - Trionfale area of Rome, located on the quiet street Via Savonarola. It has an independent entrance, into a private garden, where you can relax and eat outside in the privacy of your vacation home. The apartment building complex, from the early 1900s, is a notable architectural landmark and offers an alternative for tourists looking to be in a more authentic, centrally located, area of Rome, where the Romans actually live. The area is truly walkable and offers a blend of residential tranquility and vibrant city life. The neighborhood has splendid early 20th-century architecture, wide boulevards, and parks.
In walking distance you can visit the Vatican Museum (just 10 minutes), St. Peter’s Square, and Castel Sant’Angelo, or shop in the clothing boutiques, shoe stores, and Italian leather shops on Via Ottaviano, Via Cola di Rienzo, and the surrounding streets.
Just down the street from your apartment is Rome’s biggest market, Mercato Trionfale, with over 200 stalls. At this famous market you will find delicious culinary delights, fruits, vegetables, cheeses, fish, breads, and meat, in addition to many household items. You can also sit down and have lunch at a fish stall, or a tramezzino sandwich at the bar inside.
In the area is a range of eating options, from bars with sandwiches and salads, local roman fare, pizzerias, as well as upscale fish and fine Italian cuisine, in addition to pubs, ice cream shops, bakeries, supermarkets, live music, and cinemas.

The area is well connected to the sights in the historical center of Rome. The Metro Line A brings you to Rome center in three stops, or about ten minutes. (Piazza del Popolo or Piazza di Spagna.) The two closest metro stops, about 5-10 minutes walking distance from your apartment, are Ottaviano or Cipro.
There is a network of bike paths throughout Rome, with the closest one just two blocks away on Via Andrea Doria. You can rent a bike by the hour, or if you have your own bicycle, you can store it in our private garden.
