The apartment is located near Piazza Bologna, one of Rome's most famous squares, in the Nomentano neighborhood, northeast of the city center, near the Aurelian Walls. Strongly desired in the early 20th century and then developed especially during the twenty years of Fascism, the Piazza Bologna area experienced strong population growth in the 1920s and 1930s, which continued in the following decades. Today, the area — which has its architectural symbol in the famous Palazzo delle Poste, one of the most interesting examples of Rationalist architecture in Italy — is also a major hub for students at La Sapienza University, given its quick connections and short distance to the capital's university. For this reason, the Bologna area is characterized by a strong presence of young people and very young people; in recent years, venues of all kinds have sprung up, offering a fun-filled nightlife, less bohemian than San Lorenzo.
Near Piazza Bologna is also Benito Mussolini's historic residence, Villa Torlonia, now an important museum villa; the area is ideal for jogging and relaxing when you have some free time, a green space much appreciated by residents.
Archaeological, cultural, and historical attractions abound, including the Mausoleum of Santa Costanza with its splendid mosaics, Sant'Agnese fuori le Mura with its catacombs, and the nearby Basilica of San Lorenzo Fuori le Mura.
The area is well connected to the historic center by numerous bus lines. It is also a 5-minute walk from the "Bologna" stop on line B, 10 minutes from Villa Torlonia Park, the Sapienza University of Economics, and the Polyclinic, and 15 minutes from Tiburtina Station.
